Stephen Igor Warokka is a partner at SSEK Law Firm, where he’s part of the labor and employment practice and supervises the firm’s immigration and work permit as well as shipping and maritime practices. He also advises on corporate transactions, foreign investment, and regulatory negotiations with government institutions.
In 2015, Stephen was seconded to Mori Hamada & Matsumoto in Tokyo, advising Japanese companies on Indonesian legal and regulatory matters and delivering seminars on foreign investment and shipping law.
He played a key role in shaping Indonesia’s 2019 Minister of Manpower decree on expatriate employment positions, coordinating input from foreign chambers and engaging directly with senior government offices.
Stephen serves on the Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, heads the International Relations Division of the Indonesia Labor Law Consultants Association, and is Secretary of the Berkeley Club of Indonesia, the alumni association of University of California, Berkeley.
