With over 25 years of experience, Manas Kumar Chaudhuri advises Indian and foreign clients on competition law and policy and related legal/regulatory issues including merger control. He regularly argues before the Competition Commission of India (CCI) and the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal and occasionally before the higher constitutional courts on competition law matters.

Prior to joining the profession as a full-time lawyer, Manas has served as a Judge in the West Bengal State Judicial Services, Director (Legal) MRTP Commission and Additional Registrar (Legal) Competition Commission of India.

Manas has been a regular speaker on the subject, both at domestic and international anti-trust law events, for the past two decades.  He is also an honorary visiting faculty member at several universities and academic institutes in India. Over the years, Manas has been an active member of various international and Indian industry chambers of commerce and bar associations. He is currently the Co-Chair of the Competition Law Committee of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA). He is also a member of the Legal Task Force and Regulatory Law Committees of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Manas is also a member of the Antitrust Litigation Working Group of the International Bar Association. He was previously the Chairperson of the ASSOCHAM National Council on Competition Law Council.
