Vivek Daswaney heads the employment and labor law vertical at Economic Laws Practice (ELP).

He obtained his Bachelors and Masters in Law from Mumbai University and is a qualified Solicitor registered with Bombay Incorporated Law Society and Law Society of England and Wales.

Vivek has represented various global and domestic organizations in handling all kinds of labour and employment related matters including workforce restructuring – organic/inorganic, social security/compensation structuring, employee transfers/exits, assisting in HR policies/handbooks, senior management contracts, Industrial relations, investigations, disciplinary proceedings, labour law compliances, audits and regulatory interface.

Over the 25+ years practice he has also gained substantial experience in litigations/disputes, corporate-commercial transactions, mergers & acquisitions, real estate, inheritance planning, trust and testamentary. He works regularly with the infrastructure, real estate and corporate commercial teams within the firm and assists the other practices in employee related restructuring.

Besides being a lawyer, he is an avid sailor, biker and teacher – associated with law and management colleges as a visiting faculty.

Thiago’s expertise is focused on technology, compliance and public law, particularly in regard to anti–corruption, data protection, cybersecurity and digital platform investigations conducted by public authorities and regulators. He also advises clients on public law issues with a focus on infrastructure, assisting with contracting state-owned companies, administrative sanctioning proceedings, concessions, public tenders, and administrative contracts in general.
Thiago is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the Global Digital Economy Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Technology Committee of the British Chamber of Commerce and the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Federal Senate’s Commission of Jurists for drafting a bill on artificial intelligence and is CIPP/Europe-certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
A law professor at the Universidade de Brasília (UnB), Thiago has also authored books including Fundamentos da Regulação da Privacidade e Proteção de Dados Pessoais (2019), Adimplemento Substancial e Cooperação do Credor (2011), and Eficácia dos Direitos Fundamentais nas Relações Privadas (2010).
Thiago also has a background working in the public sector, both as a prosecutor for the State of São Paulo and as an advisor to a judge in Brazil’s Federal Supreme Court (STJ).

Mr. Wang Zhengzhi is a partner at Globe-Law Law Firm, a doctoral supervisor at Northwest University of Political Science and Law, and a member of the Fourth and Fifth National Intellectual Property Expert Advisory Committee. He is also a member of the 10th National Committee of the China Association for Science and Technology, and served as the director of the Intellectual Property Professional Committee of the All China Lawyers Association during its 9th and 10th sessions. Additionally, he is a council member of the Inter Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) for the China region and an arbitrator for institutions such as CIETAC, WIPO, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, and the Saudi International Arbitration Centre. He also advises on corporate transactions, foreign investment, and regulatory negotiations with government institutions.

In 2015, Stephen was seconded to Mori Hamada & Matsumoto in Tokyo, advising Japanese companies on Indonesian legal and regulatory matters and delivering seminars on foreign investment and shipping law.

He played a key role in shaping Indonesia’s 2019 Minister of Manpower decree on expatriate employment positions, coordinating input from foreign chambers and engaging directly with senior government offices.

Stephen serves on the Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, heads the International Relations Division of the Indonesia Labor Law Consultants Association, and is Secretary of the Berkeley Club of Indonesia, the alumni association of University of California, Berkeley.
