The theme for the IPBA Annual Meeting and Conference 2024 in Tokyo is “New World, New Wisdom”. As we look to the future, it is important to explore, share and develop common wisdom that everyone can understand and accept, which transcends race, creed, gender, social status, country or region. This new wisdom will enable us to create a new world which protects human rights and an environment in which everyone can live together in harmony.
The IPBA Annual Meeting and Conference 2024 in Tokyo is a perfect opportunity to discuss what we can do as a legal profession to work toward this goal. You will be able to share and expand your knowledge with colleagues, consider the future of our profession, and strengthen relationships with practitioners from around the world. We are looking forward to meeting you in Tokyo, where you will be given a ‘once-in-an-era’ chance to network, engage in stimulating conversations with colleagues, and experience the best of what this traditional, yet truly cosmopolitan city has to offer.

The Inter-Pacific Bar Association
The Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) is an international association of business and commercial lawyers who live, or have a strong interest, in the Asia-Pacific region. It was established in April 1991 at an inaugural conference held in Tokyo, attended by more than 500 lawyers from various countries within the Asia-Pacific region.
The IPBA has over 1,500 members in more than 65 jurisdictions worldwide and a track record of 32 years of successful annual conferences around the world. With 24 specialist committees from which to choose, the IPBA has members representing the entire spectrum of business and commercial legal work. The IPBA is a close-knit organization so you will always be able to make new friends, whether in the same area of law across the region or even throughout the world.

History
The four-day Annual Conference culminates in the IPBA Annual General Meeting, to which all IPBA members are invited. The Mid-Year Council Meeting includes three days of meetings of the IPBA Council, and a one-day Regional Conference which is open to the public.
